To most people, an argument is a disagreement between people about something they feel is important. While most day-to-day arguments are based on opinions and personal beliefs, scientific argument involves the process of constructing, evaluating, and refining claims based on evidence, reasoning, and logical deduction. Scientific argumentation is a core element of scientific methodology and is crucial for advancing scientific knowledge. Through scientific argument we can reach conclusions that are grounded in empirical data and theoretical frameworks.
